The Courtauld's National Wallpainting Survey is an archive of international importance, comprising records of all known British medieval wall paintings as well as extensive material on post-medieval schemes of painted decoration.

Funded generously by the Paul Mellon CentrePilgrim Trust and Marc Fitch Fund, this extensive archive has been partially digitised over the course of three years with the help of an extraordinary community of volunteers. This project aims to make valuable resources available to the heritage sector and to attract new contributions over time. The archive itself is structured hierarchically, according to material type, and organised by county and site location, however, this database makes it possible to also search by a painting’s date and subject matter.
