At Seventeen Nineteen, we believe that play is a powerful tool that connects us with our heritage, sparks our imagination, and fosters a sense of joy and wonder. This season, you'll find an impressive lineup of interactive workshops, engaging exhibitions, and immersive experiences that embrace the history of play in Sunderland.

Families will find loads of exciting opportunities to discover the joy of creating together through our interactive workshops, where parents and children can explore traditional crafts, learn about local history, and ignite their imaginations.

Creative play encompasses a wide range of activities that encourage imagination, self-expression, and exploration.

Suitable for children of all ages we'll be making temporary art works and playing with traditional and unusual toys! Explore building and constructing, role play and fancy dress, nature and photography.

All our family workshops have age guidance and a sensory guide to help you prepare for your visit.

We've got family days full of ways to make toys and games to take home- from marble runs, board games, playground games and paper dolls. Learn a little something, play a little something and make your own fun!

Or try your hand at something new- light up your imagination with Dungeons and Dragons in our clocktower. Spend a morning in the nave learning some simple yoga as a family or celebrate National Bee Day in style

For adults this summer- engage in enlightening conversations with like-minded individuals, attend fascinating talks, or take part in skill-building workshops that celebrate Sunderland's unique identity.
