Holy Trinity Church, York - lime-mortar repointing and stone repairs by stonemasons

Warmth at last.

Our volunteer stewards are now able to make use of a new kitchen, toilet facilities, heating and workstations in between welcoming visitors to this fascinating time capsule which remains unheated and lit only by candlelight.

Although small in scale, this project has by no means been simple with the challenge of obtaining the necessary permissions to excavate within the medieval churchyard – firstly for trial pits to inform the specification, then the actual excavation work  – taking two years. This project has involved a huge amount of very detailed work at both the planning and design stages and also on site.
