World Earth Day - King's Lynn
St Nicholas' Chapel, King's Lynn, Norfolk
Discover the word's largest environmental movement in this fun and informative event.
World Earth Day, (officially April 22nd) originated in the massive 1970 rally which encouraged a surprising American president to pass a raft of environmental legislation. The day is about celebrating our environment at the same time as becoming more aware of how to look after it.
The local KLimate Concern group have hosted this enjoyable and informative event in St Nicholas Chapel for Earth Day for the last two years and will do so again this year
This year the international theme is ‘End Plastic Pollution’.
There will be informative displays from groups taking part, free food, art- linked to the themes of waste and climate change, music, activities to involve children and a bar. We are hoping to have some live discussion with the main political parties
This year we are wanting to sharpen our focus by asking people who visit to consider making a pledge and also telling us if they have learnt something through the event.
Save the day, Save the planet.
