St Martin's Church, Waithe, Lincolnshire

A chance to see this beautiful church with the help of knowledgeable volunteers.

St Martin’s Church dates back to the 11th-century. The Romanesque exterior hides a surprising interior celebrating High Victorian Gothic. It was restored exquisitely in 1861 by noted local architect James Fowler for the Haigh family (local landowners). This wonderful interior has elaborately patterned Minton tiles on the floor, walls and reredos, stunning stained glass and a number of monuments to members of the Haigh family. Guided Tours within this fascinating church, delivered by our volunteers will see the inner sanctum lit by candlelight for this special event.
