Glorious songs, fantasias and sonatas by Purcell including;
Music for Awhile, ‘Here the Deities Approve’ and the spectacular Three Parts on a Ground. Sonatas by Handel, the sublimely touching Ach daß ich Wassers gnug hätte by JC Bach and show-stopping arias from Handel’s opera Rodalina, ‘Dove sei’ & ‘Vivi tiranno’.

Julia Doyle – soprano
The centrepiece for this concert is the magnificent solo cantata O Holder Tag, bwv 210, alongside solos for cello, flute and viola, trio sonatas and the exquisitely beautiful aria ‘Wir zittern und wanken’ from bwv 105, Herr, gehe nicht ins Gericht.
