Cambridge Voices Reinvented - Cambridge
All Saints' Church, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Cambridge Voices return to the Summer Music Festival with an innovative programme including Parry, Debussy and Arvo Piirt
This concert commemorates one hundred years since the 1918 Armistice; the foundation of the Republic of Estonia; and the deaths of the composers Debussy and Parry. Performing without a conductor, the choir's innovative programme will include excerpts from Victoria's Battle Mass for double choir, four of Parry's Songs of Farewell, and first performances of a choral version of the slow movement of Debussy's String Quartet.
In addition there will be Leidvin Mons Takle's Ave Maria (specially commissioned for this concert), We will remember them in Flanders Fields by choir director and counter tenor Ian de Massini and works by Estonian composers Arvo Piirt and Veljo Tormis.
