Join our fun family activities and see the results of our recent archaeological dig.

We’ve been busy working with Canterbury Archaeological Trust to excavate the secret garden behind our historic church,  looking for the hidden floor of the south aisle, which once stood on the site of the garden before the church tower collapsed in 1661.

We found some wonderful medieval tiles during the dig, and we’re hoping to find more! Why not take inspiration from the tiles we found and create your own medieval tiles from paper and cardboard? Medieval churches were very brightly coloured, so you can be as creative as you like!

You can also do our trail - answer the questions as you explore the church and complete the activities. Why did the tower fall down? Where was the mummified rat found? Can you find the 'witch mark'?

We’ll have displays of some of the things we’ve found during the dig from coins to clay pipes and rare Anglo-Saxon pottery to tiles. You might be surprised at the history that’s hidden under your feet!
