A creative workshop and communal walk from Artspace visiting St Peter's Church and then returning to Artspace

A creative workshop and communal walk from Artspace to St Peter’s Church, and back.

Walking and community help us reflect on, and process loss. This walk offers a contemporary ritual for thinking about the past year, in preparation for Spring.

A facilitated workshop will offer time, art materials and support to make a creative response to some part of this year’s journey. Participants will have the opportunity to share what they have made with the group. Then the group will take a silent walk through Cambridge, carrying their creative work in their hand, a box, or a bag.

Vanessa Brown, musician and composer, will collaborate on holding silence as we walk.

Our 1 mile course will take us across the bridge at Jesus Lock, along the boardwalk to Bridge Street, and then up to St Peter’s Chapel (or to its steps, depending on mobility).  We will break our walk, and silence, near this font, sharing water.

The group will then return to Artspace, with opportunities for people to talk as they walk, if they wish. At Artspace hot drinks and a brazier will be available. Participants wishing to leave work behind may use it if they wish.

The group will be a maximum of 12 people, including myself and Vanessa.

Please come prepared for the weather.

Free Event but must be booked in advance by emailing [email protected] - Clio is an artist and art therapist.
