Cambridgeshire: Devil's Dyke Walk
Explore the historic East Cambridgeshire including Swaffham Prior with its two churches in the same churchyard and walk along the Devil’s Dyke to Reach
Devil’s Dyke is an earthen barrier thought to be Anglo-Saxon and crosses the fen from Swaffham Prior to Reach. In Swaffham Prior the two churches were in neighbouring parishes which were amalgamated in 1667 and St Mary’s became the parish church. St Cyriac’s is in the care of the CCT and has an elegant Georgian interior with fantastic acoustics.
A moderately difficult walk of 4.3 miles (7 kms) with some uneven sections which can be muddy and will take approx. 1 hour 15 minutes.
St Cyriac's is one of the CCT's Champing Churches, which is camping overnight in historic churches.
