About this Church
A riverside church in the Cerne Valley
This pastoral and picturesque riverside church by an old manor was built primarily in the thirteenth century.
All Saints' has a stone tower topped with pinnacles and vigorously carved angel-gargoyles. Inside is an unusual melon-shaped twelfth-century font bowl, probably from an earlier church here.
Access information
Best parking is on the verge of the tarmac lane in the village It is then a 120m walk down a track as signposted. Entrance is then trough a gate, down a sloping grass churchyard to 3 crumbling steps leading to the north porch.

Nether Cerne is signposted off the A352 between Godmanstone and Cerne Abbas, 5 miles north of Dorchester, on A352
Transport
Maiden Newton (5 miles and Dorchester West (6 miles) are on the Bristol-Weymouth line; Dorchester South (6 miles) is on the London Waterloo-Weymouth line; and Sherborne (14 miles) is on the London Waterloo-Exeter line. Nether Cerne is a request stop on the bus between Dorchester and Sherborne (Currently 6 buses per day)
For those coming from Bristol: Nearest railway station: Maiden Newton (4.4 miles)
