HCT Chapel Support Officer

Salary:
£25,000 per annum pro rata
Hours/days:
21.6 hours per week across 3 days
Location:
Homebased with occasional travel throughout England

We’re looking to recruit a Chapel Support Officer who has experience in supporting people to work together to initiate, develop and support activities in local communities.

The HCT Chapel Support Officer will work with communities at 20 chapels owned by The Historic Chapels Trust (HCT) by making new contacts and strengthening relationships with committees to help these special buildings thrive as visitor attractions and venues for events.

Historic chapels have special history and architecture, so sharing their story is a big part of the role. But they also rely on local committees and supporters making the best of them, through concerts, exhibitions, lectures, housekeeping and day to day admin. Many are still used for services, but they have also found other uses, such as a dance school.

We’re looking for candidates who are happy to undertake some occasional travel throughout England but who can also establish and support relationships with chapel management committees remotely.

This post is supported by specialists, so you do not need a background in historic buildings or places of worship. Instead it represents a fantastic opportunity to get to know lovely places and their communities, and fulfil their interests in using these wonderful sites.
