Next Steps

An opportunity to find out more about the future of Holy Trinity Church.

Date: Thursday 29th August
Location: Seventeen Nineteen, Church Street East, Sunderland, SR1 2BB
Session Times: 10.00-10.45 / 11.00-11.45 / 13.00-13.45 / 14.00-14.45

The Churches Conservation Trust (CCT) is really proud of the project that has been undertaken at Holy Trinity Church; the building looks fantastic and is now in a condition which will last for many more generations - as an asset for Sunderland’s East End. The Seventeen Nineteen team have done a brilliant job at creating a dynamic and diverse program of activity in the last 3 years – from concerts to craft sessions, heritage walks and films, and loads more besides – and they could not have done this without support from generous donations, our grant funders like the National Lottery Heritage Fund and the community of Sunderland. In October of this year, the National Lottery Heritage Funded aspect of the project draws to a close, and the CCT wants to carry on the great work that has been delivered so far and ensure that any future plan allows all local users and groups to enjoy Holy Trinity Church in the best way possible. As a result we are exploring things with possible new partners to keep Holy Trinity Church open and vibrant. We already have some ideas that we would like to share, but would really welcome further discussions and input from those who love the building, so that we can help sustain the church long into the future.
