At Seventeen Nineteen we endeavour to create an inclusive space where everyone is welcomed. The information on this page is designed to help you to plan according to your needs, letting you know what facilities and services you can expect to find here during your visit. If there's something you feel we have not included here that should be, please get in touch.
You do not need to book in advance to visit the building, and there is no entry fee. There are donation points inside the building should you wish to contribute during your visit.
Our regular opening times are:
- Monday: CLOSED
- Tuesday: CLOSED
- Wednesday: 10am-4pm
- Thursday: 10am-4pm
- Friday: 10am-4pm
- Saturday: CLOSED
- Sunday: CLOSED
These times reflect our openings for public viewing. We often operate outside of these hours for ticketed events like gigs, workshops and classes. Activities take place throughout the building during opening hours, meaning we can’t always guarantee full access to all areas of the building at all times. Keep an eye on our website and social media platforms to stay up to date with what’s going on or get in touch with us for advice about quiet times.

There are several car parking places beside the church and ample on-street options nearby.
During your visit
Our front desk located in the ground floor narthex, just to the left of the font and beside the toilet area. Our staff and volunteers are here to help, they can check you in, serve drinks, answer questions about the building and let you know about our upcoming events and activities.
There are three toilets, all located on the ground floor. The toilets are gender neutral single cubicles. One of the toilets is a accessible toilet, which also contains baby change facilities.
The café has a selection of hot and cold drinks as well as sweet treats and snacks for sale. More substantial food can be ordered in for large groups with prior notice – enquire for more details. The café also serves as a payment point for arts and crafts that are on sale, as well as a place to purchase tickets for our upcoming events. The café accepts both cash and card payments.
Lots of the features, objects and furniture inside the building are over 300 years old, so we ask that you take care once inside the building in order to best preserve everything for generations to come. If you have any doubts, please check with a member of staff before handling anything fragile in the space.
Accessibility
The events we host feature a range of sounds, lights and other sensory experiences. We try our best to inform everyone ahead of time what to expect during each activity. The online event page, pre-event emails and members of staff on-site are there to help you get the most out of your visit here. We are happy to help anyone planning their visit in advance, just get in touch.
We have wheelchair accessible, step free access to the ground floor. The curb outside is dropped and our doors are wide to facilitate wheelchair access. The ground floor includes our accessible toilet, front desk services, café and the nave – our main event space.
The upper floor and gallery are only accessible via the original staircases. If you are unable to climb stairs, we have a full 360° photo tour of the entire building online. The photo tour includes images of the upper floor library and gallery, as well as the roof and bell tower - which aren’t open to the public. The photo tour is available here, or enquire with a member of staff during your visit for help.
Our What’s On guide is currently available in large print format. If you require a guide in braille, or another format, please let us know. There is a loop hearing system available at the front desk that is portable and can be used during your visit. We regularly programme British Sign Language interpreted building tours and other events and we welcome service animals (and their humans) into the space.
The acoustics in the building are very reverberant, which can reduce hearing clarity or bring on sensory overload symptoms during noisy events. We have designated quiet spaces during busy events for people to take a break when needed and offer child sized ear defenders, which are available at the front desk.
Children and families are welcomed here, please check our events guide for family specific events and activities. There are baby change facilities on site and a microwave is available for heating up baby food.
If you require a ticket to an event for your carer or personal assistant, let us know and one will be arranged at no extra cost.
